The North Melbourne Kangaroos unofficially known as the ‘Shinboners’ are the fourth oldest club in the AFL. The Kangaroos are based at the Arden street oval but play all of their home games at Etihad Stadium. The Kangaroos quite recently were the dominant team in the AFL wining premierships in 1996 and 1999 under Coach Dennis Pagan and what many consider as the best player to play the game Wayne Carey. The club's motto is victoria amat curam, Latin for "Victory Demands Dedication".
